I dont know, all the same before you do, you should learn to read and write and spell proficiently. If you were to find such books could you read them in the old languages they would be written in?

I'm not denigrating your interests, but the only place you could find these things would be at some hippie shop in its book section and I assure you it would not be the real thing. AND, they'll want big $$.

The truth is, you'll have to spend much of your life searching. Hidden arts aren't picked up over a weekend.

    Merry Meet,
As you can see, a Book of Shadows is personally written so you can only get an original one if it is handwritten.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Voodoo is a creation of Caribbean slave culture, when African religions were displaced by the slave trade and were "reinvented" in the New World. The slave trade belongs to the modern era, so Voodoo does as well. Also, it's not a book-based practice.

Wicca is an invention of the nineteenth century, on the belief (for which there is no real evidence) that the accusations of witchcraft brought against late medieval and early modern women reflected the persistence of a real non-Christian religion. I know modern Wiccans will down-thumb me for saying this, but it's true. So again, there will be no authentic "ancient" Wiccan books.

"Black" magic is just a label for practices which a given writer considered dangerous or wicked, so it could apply to just about anything.

There is a collection of ancient Greco-Egyptian magical papyri translated into English by Hans-Dieter Betz, you should be able to find a copy on Amazon. There are a few manuscripts of spells from the Middle Ages but I'm not sure if they've been published. Good luck getting any of them to work...

Wicca is a modern religion about 70 years old. Any ancient book that claims to be Wiccan is a fraud. And it is a religion, it's not about spells.

Vodou is an Afro-Carribean; a syncretic religion combining Christianity & the tribal religion of slaves. You won't find ancient books on that, either.

Kulam is a curse (in Asia) and I don't know what the others are-- but that would generally be folk magic. And folk magic & Witchcraft were not things people generally wrote down.

"Black magic books" and "Spell books" are pretty modern inventions. Until a couple hundred years ago, the average person couldn't even read & write, paper was extremely expensive and book printing was either all done by hand or, once we had the printing press, very tedious & time consuming. People couldn't go off and buy a blank journal at Borders.

There are some known grimoires from like the middle ages (I heard of one that goes as far back as the 13 century but most are from like the 15th onward). But these are not really spell books; they are ceremonial magic instruction guides-- like teaching guides.

Ceremonial magic is highly complex, you'd be better off to find a teacher.

Neither Wicca nor Voodoo were around in "ancient times" and both are religions. They aren't about spells.

As far as "black magic" that's a useless term. It generally just means "magic which is forbidden." people generally don't sit down a write a book of stuff they consider immoral and forbidden.

Good luck finding any "ancient texts" that have anything to do with Voodoo or Wicca. Wicca is barely 50 years old and Voodoo is only a few hundred years old, if that.

Also, the "ancients" of most religions weren't especially literate... they didn't write a lotdown until the Christians came and taught everyone how to read the bible, so it's hard to find non-Christian "ancient" texts.

The modern books are much more useful anyhow.
